A book stand is a valuable accessory for every true lover of books. Currently proffered models vary from simple wire devices such as the Fold’N'Stow that supports a book at variable angles on virtually any flat surface, to the elegantly conceived and executed LEVO Bookholder which holds a book or other reading material in either a floor stand model or a clamp-on design that easily clamps to any table, desk, or counter top. Most book stand designs work best with hardcovers, but they also can work quite nicely with paperback books when they are held by book holders such as an OpenPage.

The Fold’N'Stow is one of the most affordable of book stands. It folds flat for easy storage and transport and comes with it’s own convenient pouch designed for easy placement in a three ring binder. It may be placed on a counter top for cook books, or the top of your desk, table, workstation, bench, etc. Wire arms with page holders swing from the back plane to secure your book open, and, by adjusting how far apart the arms are, smaller and larger books may be easily accommodated. The back of the stand has horizontal pieces that can be moved to adjust the angle at which the book is held relative to the surface upon which it is resting.

The LEVO’s most popular book stand is the LEVO floor stand model, which includes a weighted rolling base for easy movement just about anywhere. Wherever you position it, the LEVO can position in just about any position. With a bookboard which swings, tilts, cants, yaws and rotates in any plane, and coupled with a book mounting system that will securely hold your book or other reading material, even upside down, the LEVO enables hands-free reading from just about any position.

The LEVO Desk design is just as convenient as the LEVO Floor Model, but incorporates a clamp that securely attaches to just about any table, desk, work bench, counter top or other flat surface up to 2 inches thick, and provides identical movements as the floor stand model, without the range of telescoping movements vertically. By keeping your book or other reading materials up off the surface to which it is secured, the desk model saves the weight and expense of the weighted rolling base while still freeing up work space, since neither your book nor your book holder rest on the working surface.

While there are other book stand designs available, the LEVO and Fold’N'Stow designs have withstood the test of time and hold up well to constant use.
